Nari Jibon: Women's Lives
Providing skills, not handouts, for Bangladeshi women and girls.
We depend on your donations to provide services.
Nari Jibon is primarily supported by private donations and a few small grants. Since we are a small organization, we are able to get your funds directly to the project. Donors are encouraged to engage in dialogue with staff and students about how the project is run, program benefits, and any other questions donors may have about Nari Jibon or Bangladesh in general.
We appreciate donations that can be allocated as needed, but would like to offer you the choice of how you would like your money to be used. Here are some examples of costs for specific services.
$5 - Tailoring class scholarship, pay the admission fees for one student.
$10 - Computer or English class scholarship and cyber cafe pass for one month
$20 - Tailoring class scholarship + transportation support. Bag, umbrella
$30- Computer class scholarship and cyber café pass for four months
$40- Computer class scholarship+ transportation support, bag, umbrella. Emails from recipient.
$60 - Sponsor a work study student for one month. Your gift enables her to concentrate on her studies, receive a small stipend, and spend one-on-one time with teachers. Donors receive an email from the student as well as progress reports from teachers.
$100 - New sewing machine and startup capital for a tailoring student so that she can start her own business.
$200 - Broadband internet access for one month.
$240- Sponsor a work- study computer student for four months (max). Your gift enables her to concentrate on her studies, receive a small stipend, spend one-on-one time with teachers, and gain practical work-office experience. Receive monthly emails from student as well as progress reports from teachers. Video and portfolio at the end of four months.
$400- new computer for the computer lab or women-only cyber cafe

We try to keep fees at a rate that is not prohibitively expensive, but some students still cannot afford to pay. This is where your donations would be put directly towards helping a specific person.
